Volta Regional Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Support Ziavi Tutu Coffee The Volta Regional Minister
The Volta Regional Minister Hon. James Gunu, has expressed strong support for Ziavi Tutu Coffee, pledging government collaboration to boost coffee production and promote the Volta Region as a major coffee hub in Ghana.
This assurance came during a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of Ziavi Tutu Coffee, Mr. Benjamin Horlali Kofi Atidjah, who led a delegation to present the company’s vision, operations, challenges, and expectations to the Minister.
Mr. Atidjah underscored the vast potential of coffee cultivation in the Volta Region and appealed for greater government and stakeholder involvement to strengthen the sector, create employment, and increase exports.
Hon. Gunu commended Ziavi Tutu Coffee for its innovation and commitment to developing a robust local coffee value chain. He noted that “the coffee we have in Volta is unique and must be expanded and exported,” stressing that investment in technology is crucial to improving productivity and farmer livelihoods.
The Minister further urged the company to take advantage of key government support initiatives, including the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), which empowers local innovators and entrepreneurs. He also assured that he would engage the Ghana Free Zones Authority to assist Ziavi Tutu Coffee in exploring export market opportunities.
Reiterating his commitment, Hon. Gunu emphasized that the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) stands ready to support and facilitate transformative initiatives that drive economic growth and sustainable development in the region.
